American Movie Company On The Set Of An NBC/Freeform Pilot

American Movie Company provided numerous video production services to NBC and Freeforms newest pilot.

The American Movie Company was involved in an on-location shoot for NBC and Freeform’s Pilot, Issues. The show, mostly shot in Toronto, moved production to New York City for several days in September in order to film in the authentic NYC environment.

The union shoot, shot by DP Theo Van De Sande (Big Daddy, Just Go With It), took place in front of a residential building just a few blocks away from the iconic Highline. An altercation between three of the show’s lead characters was filmed. Parking spaces between 17th and 18th streets were blocked off by the city to make way for the many production vehicles on set. Filming mostly took place on 17th street. PAs were on either side of the street to keep passersby and onlookers from entering the shots.

The shoot then moved to various locations in the city in order to film a montage of the leads walking through the streets and around landmarks including Columbus Circle and Central Park. The shoot wrapped at Columbus Circle, after which the crew loaded back into vans to report back to the base camp that was set up on 17th Street.

American Movie Company’s Bill Milling (line producer) and Parm Girn (production office manager) were on the set and made sure production went smoothly. The company also provided production services ranging from production coordination, to line producing, to crew and equipment. American Movie Company was also involved in location scouting and travel.
