American Survival Magazine Predicts Collapse of the Magazine and Newspaper Industry

November 16, 2015 – – Boynton Beach, FL— Survivalist magazine and its digital survival resources property Survivalist.com announce plans to avoid devastation by a coming global financial meltdown by going digital. This statement on face value may seem common, but not for any reason you may have heard before. Global rise in the price of gold and the devaluation of international currencies will cause a cascade effect and the closing of many of the worlds most trusted print magazines, newspapers and newsletters that rely on printed subscriptions.

“Magazine and print publishers are playing a dangerous Ponzi game with their customer’s money,” says publisher George Shepherd of the survival magazine. Shepherd believes that as the decline of the U.S. Dollar as the world’s reserve currency, all commodities such as those used in printing like paper, ink and even the fuel used to transport printed news media to market, will be heavily impacted causing subscription sellers to abandon their mailed media products. “The cost of honoring printed subscriptions will be too much to bear,” explains Shepherd.

The magazine industry as a whole is going through major changes as customers are seeking more news faster. The preferred means of deliver by many magazine polls point to digital distribution like email and online digital representations of printed issues. As reported by Pew, respected magazines such as The Nation saw an overall circulation decline in 2014 of up to 18%. While publications who appeal the a younger demographic such as Rolling Stone saw an increase in digital sales which accounts for 30% of Rolling Stone’s newsstand sales.

Being in the business of teaching people how to survive disasters such as floods, tornados and even the looming economic collapse, Survivalist.com has taken the innovative approach of being open and honest about the concerns with deliverability of printed magazines to subscribers in the event of a national or international financial disaster. Monthly dues to access the Survivalist.com training portal will be factored in providing a printed resource magazine to its digital subscribers in the future.

“Paid members in good standing will receive a copy of the bi-monthly printed magazine as they are released. This will ensure our own survival in the economic chaos that we believe is coming very soon,” says Shepherd as he further explains, “We believe the future belongs to those who are prepared to face it with courage, strength and integrity.”
