Anticipated Book Brings Mermaids From Around The World Together In One Place

August 23, 2017 – – Today Philip Jepsen, creator of the coffee-table book, “Mermaids Of Earth”, announced that the book is in the final phases of preparation and will soon be available. All content is complete, work on the layout is done, and the book is being prepped for publishing. Leading up to its release a Kickstarter campaign is being run to raise final funds for publication. This book has been a passion project for Philip for several years, and he is excited to announce the anticipated release.

“I’ve been working toward this for some time,” says Mister Jepsen. “I became interested in mermaid art and particularly in mermaid sculpture, partly because I grew up in Denmark, home to Hans Christian Andersen, author of the fairy tale The Little Mermaid. And as a Dane, The Little Mermaid is pretty much part of one’s culture and upbringing. My quest, however, began in America, on a cross-country trip with my mother, where I found a replica of the Little Mermaid in, of all places, Iowa. In the book I go into the story of how I got started on this quest, and all the interesting discoveries it’s led me to along the way.”

The Kickstarter campaign is scheduled to end mid-September, after which the book will go into publication and distribution. Philip anticipates the book will be available for delivery well before the holiday season. Mermaids are a global sensation, in stories, paintings, graphic arts, movies, sculptures and other art forms, and “Mermaids Of Earth” is the first book to bring together information and photos of key mermaids from around the world. No other book of this nature has been done.

“No one has done this before,” says Mister Jepsen. “As incredible as that sounds, there are no resources that bring together this much information on this many mermaid statues, lore and activities from around the world. I’ve made it my obsession for the last several years to seek out, understand and compile this info for all to enjoy. I’m so happy to now be offering this in a beautiful, hardcover coffee table book.”

“Mermaids Of Earth” is a 12 inch by 12 inch hardcover coffee-table book, 200 pages in length. It has hundreds of full-color photos of mermaid statues from around the world. The book contains information on each statue and information on the history and legends of mermaids in different cultures.
