The Austin Steam Train Association recently announced
“The signature 44 mile round trip Bertram Flyer makes a special journey to the 2015 Bertram Oatmeal Festival! Most festivities are held within walking distance of the fully restored 1912 Bertram Depot. The Grand Parade, food vendors and shopping will be in downtown Bertram for passengers to enjoy! This year’s fair schedule will be announced soon. For more information on the Oatmeal Festival, passengers may visit their website listed below. All cars are pulled by a 1960 Alco diesel locomotive. Parties of two may be seated at shared tables. This ride is 4 hours round trip with a 1.5 hour layover.”
Upon hearing the news festival organizers replied,
“The Oatmeal Festival is very pleased to welcome the Austin Steam Train Association back to Bertram. It’s been 2 years since their last visit, and a lot has changed since then. The event has moved from the dusty baseball fields to the more convenient downtown location. There will be more entertainment, food and fun than ever before!”
