Aviation Marketing Consulting Firm Releases 2016 Social Media Guide at NBAA

November 13, 2015 – – Las Vegas — More aviation professionals than ever are using social media personally and professionally, yet most of the social media literature on the market is geared toward the general consumer market. ABCI, an aviation marketing consultancy, has released the first annual social media guide that addresses the unique demographics, terminology and market conditions of the aviation industry.

ABCI has published its first annual social media guide, which includes the results of their annual social media usage survey of aviation professionals, as well as case studies and lessons learned from working with their clients.

John and Paula Williams, authors of the book, contend that social media is not a sales, marketing or networking strategy in and of itself, but is a powerful tool that can be used to accomplish specific tasks more efficiently.

“Aviation has a unique culture, terminology, and market. ABCI has developed a system called Long Cycle MarketingSM to develop the long-term relationships we need to make sales effectively in this industry. Social media can be a very effective part of this system, but it’s only a part of an effective marketing system.” said Paula Williams. “Social media can be very powerful for market research, targeting specific prospects, following up and customer service. But just like any other tool, it can be used well or badly.“

“Whatever your personal opinion of social media, it has become part of the business landscape,” adds John Williams, an admitted social media skeptic. “Successful businesspeople are the ones that use the most effective tools for the task at hand, regardless of their personal opinions.”
