Bakersfield Man Files Lawsuit After Being Injured In E-Cigarette Explosion
May 29, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com reports on an incident involving an e-cigarette explosion in November that left a 23-year-old Bakersfield man with serious injuries. According to a report by CBS Los Angeles, the man suffered severe burns to his face after the e-cigarette blew up while he was using it. He suffered damage to his mouth and had to have part of his index finger removed as a result of the explosion. The man’s attorney has filed a lawsuit on his behalf.
Several other individuals who have experienced e-cigarette explosions have also opted to file lawsuits against the manufacturers and, in some cases, the vendor. A recent case involving a 14-year-old boy in New York who was blinded by an explosion is just one of multiple reported cases in which serious injuries have prompted legal action. The boy had been testing an e-cigarette at a mall kiosk when the explosion occurred. He is being represented by Attorney Marc Freund with Lipsig, Shapey Manus & Moverman.
“The duty falls to Kings Plaza and the kiosk owner to make sure there’s signs in place to warn the children,” said Freund in a Pix11 interview. “There was not even a single sign advising of the city and state law until after this incident takes place.”
As cases continue to accumulate, Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman are currently looking to assist those who have been affected by explosive e-cigarettes. Attorneys such as Marc Freund are working to ensure that those individuals who have been injured by the devices are able to explore their legal rights fully. Certain individuals may be entitled to substantial financial compensation. Attorney Freund is currently offering free consultations to anyone who has been injured by the devices.
