The report states that texting while driving has become one of the greatest dangers on the roads in recent years. The report continues by saying that the advances in smartphone technology are replacing some frequent home computer functions, such as emailing, social networking and banking for instance. This means that people are using their cellphones more than ever, even when driving.

Texting while driving is responsible for more than1.6 million car crashes every year. It is also the cause of over 325,000 injuries and upwards of seven teen deaths a year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration explain that driving and texting is six times more dangerous than driving when intoxicated.
