Brooklyn, United States – August 30, 2017 /PressCable/

The funeral directors of Sampson Funeral Service, Inc. are proud to honor the lives and legacies of this nation’s veterans. Exemplifying the ideals of the United States, these brave individuals deserve special services in terms of final arrangements. Therefore, the funeral professionals of Sampson Funeral Service, Inc. have dedicated themselves to orchestrating perfectly executed Military Funeral Honors ceremonies. Please learn more by visiting http://www.sampsonfuneral.com/veterans. They have served the area of East New York, NY for many years.

The basic Military Funeral Honors ceremony is made up of the playing of Taps and the folding and presenting of the American flag to the deceased veteran’s family. This service is accomplished by a funeral honors detail comprised of a minimum of two Armed Forces’ members. At least one of the funeral honors detail will come from the branch of the Armed Forces that the veteran served in. If requested by the veteran or by his or her family, the Military Funeral Honors Team members may serve as pall bearers at the ceremony. Funeral Honors are available in three forms- Full Military Honors, Standard Honors Team Detail and 7 Person Detail. The one performed is chosen based on the veteran’s status.

In order to meet eligibility requirements for Military Funeral Honors, the departed must not have left the Armed Forces under dishonorable circumstances or have given service the nature of which precludes their right to receive veteran’s benefits. A more detailed explanation of the conditions that must be met in order to be qualified or excluded is available on the webpage listed above. The ideal way to prove a veteran’s eligibility is through the use of DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty. If this document is unavailable, any discharge paperwork demonstrating service other than dishonorable is sufficient.

Please note that deceased eligible veterans may also receive a complimentary government headstone or grave marker for an unmarked burial plot in any cemetery in the world. This is provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs by request. Niche markers can also be obtained to distinguish cremated remains inurned in columbaria. Further information on this benefit for qualifying veterans can be found at http://www.sampsonfuneral.com/veterans-headstones.
