Bonita Springs Drug Rehab Center Announces Help For Veterans

December 18, 2018 – – WhiteSands Treatment Center has announced a new publication that will help veterans with drug or alcohol addiction to find treatment. The Bonita Springs facility announced that they have published an article that lists resources to help veterans to find effective treatment for drug and alcohol abuse. WhiteSands states that given the number of cases that are reported every year, it is essential that drug abuse treatment for veterans be available.

Joe Ducey, a representative for the facility says, “Veterans are proven to be at a higher risk for developing drug or alcohol addiction. WhiteSands wants to reach out to these veterans and show them that they have options for treatment that are personalized for their specific needs.”

Studies show that nearly 85 percent of those enlisted in active duty generally drink. Up to 12 percent of those are considered to have a drinking problem. This is much higher than the national average that falls just below eight percent of the overall adult population. Regarding drug addiction, studies show that between 2001 and 2009, doctors increased their opioid painkiller prescriptions by four times. Experts believe that this shows a high increase in the number of military personnel who are addicted to painkilling drugs.

“Being deployed and away from family can put quite a strain on a person,” says Ducey. “Not only that, but the average citizen has no idea what these military personnel see when they are deployed. One can simply not imagine what they go through that could lead to PTSD and addiction.”

Ducey says that the WhiteSands of Bonita Springs – Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center focuses on the individual needs of the veteran. He states that the stress, exposure to violence and other issues that veterans face can be the cause of a number of mental illnesses including depression, PTSD and anxiety. He says that the facility approaches rehabilitation for veterans by focusing on these sensitive issues that they may be facing. Treatment is personalized for the veteran and the specific issues that he or she is facing.

The facility published the article in an effort to reach out to veterans and show them that there is help available, Ducey says. The article outlines specific issues that veterans face as well as statistics that show why veterans are more susceptible to developing a drug or alcohol addiction and gives resources that veterans can use to get the help that they need.

Ducey says that WhiteSands Treatment Center believes that an individual approach to addiction recovery is the only effective way. He says that the treatment center offers a relaxed atmosphere that gives patients a number of amenities including swimming pools, snack cafes, workout facilities, medical offices and more. He says that their main goal is to help their patients to feel comfortable and relaxed while undergoing treatment and states that they treat each case individually. He says that there is no one way that will work for every patient. Counselors speak with patients and get to know them and their issues, treating the underlying issues that may have led to the addiction in the first place.

Ducey says that veterans are welcome and even encouraged to read the article to get more information on the resources that are available to them to help them to deal with their drug and alcohol addiction. Those who would like more information on the Bonita Springs drug rehab center or any of the WhiteSands facilities can visit the treatment center online. The center’s website offers a more in depth look at their facilities and the list of amenities that they offer, as well as the types of addictions that they treat and their effective treatment strategies. Ducey states that their hope is that any veteran who is currently battling a drug or alcohol addiction will contact them to find the help that they need to overcome that addiction and get their lives back on track.
