BraBall Exceeds Goal On Kickstarter, created By Texan/Vietnamese Entrepreneur

Kieu Phan created BraBall – a simple tool that allows women to machine-wash brassieres. Now the project has surpassed its goal on Kickstarter and is headed for mass production.

Vietnamese-born entrepreneur Kieu Phan met her goal of $60,000 on Kickstarter this month, for her invention the BraBall. Designed for women everywhere, the BraBall is the simplest way to machine-wash bras without damage or hassle because of its unique molded cup design.

“I first conceived the idea for the BraBall® bra saver while hand washing my own bras,” said founder Kieu Phan. “I couldn’t machine wash my brassieres because the bra cups would get lumpy, bunch up, dent and wrinkle. The underwires would bend, break, or poke through the bra fabric. The straps would lose their elasticity and I would have to throw them out and buy new ones.

The chore of hand washing, however, was very time-consuming and impractical. Hand washed bras can’t be wrung out thoroughly enough, thus water drips from wherever they’re hung, causing unsightly water deposits, slippery floors and more unnecessary cleanup. I thought to myself, ‘There’s got to be an easier way to wash expensive bras!’

After going to a local craft store, Phan purchased some wire sheets and tape to make the first prototype. Countless tests were done and many improvements were made to arrive at the final design. Four years have passed and over one thousand tests later, the product is fully perfected, patented, and trademarked.

In 2004, she established Phantastic Innovations Inc. to manufacture and distribute the BraBall® bra saver.

Phan is now thrilled to be able to finally share her revolutionary BraBall® laundry device with every woman out there who’s ready to stop wasting time, energy and money and stop ruining bras in the washing machine.
