Brooklyn Funeral Home Reveals That It Meets All FTC Federal Regulations
August 27, 2015 – – House of Hills Funeral Home, based in Brooklyn, NY, has announced that it has met all FTC federal regulations. The funeral home was horrified to hear about the Philadelphia funeral home where bodies were stashed in the garage. This story sent ripples through the nation with people worrying that their loved ones were not treated with respect before going to their final resting place. As such, House of Hills Funeral Home has taken the move to highlight how they meet all the necessary FTC federal regulations on funeral homes, and actually go above and beyond these.
House of Hills Funeral Home’s Felicia Crawford says: “We were horrified to hear about the Philadelphia funeral home, but this isn’t the first time we have seen a funeral home not giving the deceased the respect they deserve. We want to make it clear that we meet all the necessary regulations and that people can trust us with the care of their loved ones.”
The FTC has stated that consumers have the right to choose the particular funeral services and goods they require. They are also entitled to receive written information about the merchandise and funeral services before they come to a decision. This is generally provided in the form of a General Price list.
Furthermore, consumers have the right to find out what items they have to purchase according to the law. One thing few customers are aware of, but that House of Hills Funeral Home makes very clear, is that the casket can be purchased from a provider other than the funeral home itself. While making a purchase directly is often a quicker and easier option, they are under no obligation to do so.
“We have a range of caskets that people can choose from, but some people simply want something particular or specific that we do not carry,” adds Felicia Crawford. “We will fully support our customers in helping them find the casket they are looking for, even if that is from an outside source, as is their right.”
Besides following the FTC rules, the Brooklyn funeral home also has its own Code of Practice. This is, in fact, even stricter. They hope this will give their customers the peace of mind they need during those difficult times.
