Artists from Burning Man are collaborating and launching the first NFT platform devoted to their artwork at TTITD.art. Excited by the opportunities in the NFT space and with Burning Man canceling for the second year in a row, over a dozen artists have found a new reason to create.

“There are 30 years of rich artwork from Burning Man that needs to be merged with the new future of NFTs,” said Tex Allen, Founder of TTITD and 15-year participant.

The world of nonfungible tokens (NFTs) is literally disrupting several industries, with experts describing it as the next big thing in the crypto world. However, the creatives behind Burning Man are looking to take the experience a notch higher with the launch of the innovative NFT platform, TTITD.

The platform is set to launch in June 2021, with the goal of highlighting the best and brightest from the yearly Black Rock experience. TTITD (That Thing in the Desert) is a product of sleepless nights, with more than four months of hard work to create a gallery and exhibition that allow art enthusiasts to discover and collect truly rare, “one of a kind” pieces.

TTITD will deliver never-before-offered NFTs that will serve as the living history of the liminal art movement, creating meaningful and transformative experiences for attendees of the event. It will be an amazing showcase of life-altering moments that only Burning Man can enable, showing the world an ephemeral work from the desert creators.

“Art of this importance and provenance is rarely available to collect. These creations have already helped form the future of experiential art and much has been displayed worldwide in venues including the Smithsonian and others. NFTs allow us to expand that influence into the galleries and wallet collections of collectors and fans globally. Every participating artist is excited with new creations for their fans and followers,” Tex explained.

TTITD will be home to the most visible and exciting sculpture, art cars, photography, and jewelry from Burning Man. Initial drops will span creations from the past 5 years as well as historical pieces from the mid-’90s during the creation of the event. The art pieces represent creators who shaped the culture, community, and future history from the desert since “day one.”

TTITD launches June 11th at TTITD.art with it’s first ten art offerings and support from Burning Man. Additionally, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to Burning Man Project, earning TTITD a Fair Trade Art certification, another first-of-its-kind initiative from the desert artists to support their community.
