Chasing Jax will Offer Customized Treatment by a Licensed Occupational Therapist for Kids with Disabilities in a Sensory Gym, and an Indoor Play Space for All Children
Los Angeles, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 4, 2017 / Krystelle Hosein and Tamara Smith, licensed and registered occupational therapists from New York, are pleased to announce the launch of Chasing Jax, a play space and occupational therapy center that encourages healthier lifestyles through the medium of play.

As a spokesperson for Chasing Jax noted, the dual service center will house a supervised indoor open play space for all children and also offer treatment for children with disabilities customized by a licensed occupational therapist. The center’s sensory gym will serve as a space where children with sensory processing disorder will learn to “rewire” their brain with play.
“Sensory processing disorder prevents the brain from adequately receiving and processing sensory information and may lead to anxiety, depression, failure in school, and other difficulties if left untreated,” the spokesperson said, adding that Chasing Jax will customize occupational therapy for each child, using fun activities that help with calming, concentration, and skills that allow a child to appropriately respond to stimuli.
Chasing Jax’s open play space provides an opportunity for all children to benefit from activities that increase strength, flexibility, endurance, motor skills, and more. The team at Chasing Jax is dedicated to equipping children with life changing learning skills that allow them to thrive.
In order to help pay for the costs associated with opening Chasing Jax, Hosein and Smith recently launched a fundraiser on Indiegogo. There, they hope to raise $80,000 through crowdfunding.
“As licensed Occupational Therapy service providers for children with disabilities the owners of Chasing Jax have witnessed, first hand, the hardships many parents encounter,” the spokesperson said.
“Your contribution will allow children with disabilities access to a sensory gym with life changing Occupational Therapy intervention.”
