Wendy Wakelin believes the new books will help connect children and their parents to our shared agricultural and industrial heritage while narrating on timeless themes, like friendship and doing one’s best.

United Kingdom, February 24, 2025 — Beloved children’s author, Wendy Wakelin, is pleased to announce she is now working on the next title for her book series, Victoria’s Torton Tales, which explores the fascinating world of vintage steam traction engines. With five enchanting storybooks already in the series, fans are keen to know what’s happening next in Wendy’s world, but she’s not giving away any spoilers!

For those new to the series, Victoria Torton Tales whisks young readers up into a delightful world of vintage steam traction engines, where beloved characters Victoria and Albert (inspired by real-life engines) go on adventures to celebrate their friendship, teamwork, and love of history. Wendy, who grew up around vintage machinery, brings these tales to life with her enthusiasm for preserving our agricultural and industrial heritage.

“As the proud owner of the real traction engines, Victoria and Albert, I want to share the magic they bring with future generations,” Wendy says. “They’re more than just mechanical machines; they tell a tale of our fascinating past.”

Since 2015, Victoria’s Torton Tales has been delighting audiences with books available for purchase directly from the Victoria’s Torton Tales website, on Amazon, at steam shows, and through partnerships with museums and steam railways. Books in the series include Victoria’s Busy Day, Victoria Meets Finnigan, Pop Comes to Sewards’ Yard, Roser and Tanner Steam Roller Friends, and Victoria and the Teddy Bear, with Wendy’s next installment promising fun-filled adventures for young (and grown-up) fans, too.
