City of South San Francisco Announces Partnership with HelioEnergy Solutions for Energy Analytics
City of South San Francisco has Selected HelioEnergy Solutions and Its PredictEnergy(TM) Analytics Platform to Extend Its Existing Business Intelligence Capabilities as a Continuation of Operational Performance Upgrades at WQCP
MURRIETA, CA / ACCESSWIRE / July 23, 2015 / South San Francisco, CA, July 10, 2015: The City of South San Francisco announced today that it has selected Helio Energy Solutions and its PredictEnergy(TM) analytics platform to extend its existing business intelligence capabilities at the South San Francisco/San Bruno Water Quality Control Plant (WQCP).
The advanced analytics upgrade provides performance analysis improvements in energy load, influent and effluent data acquisition, operational cost performance, and performance-based reporting. The new system will help WQCP staff better determine its energy intensity at the plant now and in the future through a cloud-based web interface with remote monitoring of plant operations. PredictEnergy(TM) will also allow members of the North Bayside Unit (NBSU), consisting of the cities of South San Francisco, San Bruno, Millbrae, and Burlingame, and the San Francisco International Airport, to monitor their flows into WQCP. Flow monitoring is the basis for determining capital and operating costs at the shared facility. This analytics upgrade is a continuation of the operations performance improvements for this treatment facility.
Plant Superintendent Brian Schumacker says, “The ability of plant operators and managers to see in real-time the effect that various loads have upon electrical cost from our utility provider will greatly enhance our ability to operate our facility with greater efficiency and reliability.”
“We are excited to partner with The City of South San Francisco to improve operations performance…,” said TR Bietsch, managing partner of HelioPower Energy Solutions, “The key to the advanced analytic upgrades is the integration of energy consumption measured against actual energy cost and flow production to improve operations decision making.”
The WQCP partnered with HelioPower to provide greater flexibility in plant operations and energy conservation measures. The system provides real-time information on flows, energy consumption, and energy cost, as well as factors for evaluating the cost savings provided by on-site energy generation from cogeneration and a planned solar array.
