Clayco Team Hosts Job Shadow Day
High school students learn more about opportunities in construction.
CHICAGO, IL / ACCESSWIRE / January 10, 2017 / Clayco team members rounded out the holidays by hosting 15 high school students from around the Chicagoland area for a half-day learning session on jobs related to architecture and construction.
“We believe in sharing our skills with the next generation of students who will one day fill our shoes,” said Robert G. Clark, Chairman and CEO of Clayco. “It is essential for the well-being of our industry to make young people aware of the exciting opportunities that await them.”
Students met with several different Clayco team leaders who showed them the many aspects of planning, oversight and execution of skills needed to design and build a project tailored specifically to the customers’ needs. This team approach to the construction industry has made Clayco a leader in the industry and has led to a very loyal and expanding client base.
Following a kick-off by Bob Clark, students spent the day at Clayco’s headquarters in Chicago learning about carpentry, electricity, HVAC and refrigeration, welding, architecture, construction management and development. Students also honed their inter-personal skills by interacting with managers, vice presidents and other high level personnel.
