Colorado Springs Man Sustains Severe Burns In E-Cig Explosion, Spurs Potential E-Cigarette Explosion Lawsuit Cases
June 29, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Attorney Marc Freund has recently commented on a development in Colorado, where a local man was severely injured when his e-cigarette exploded in his pocket. Marc Freund wishes the local Colorado man a speedy and complete recovery and hopes that the man pursues legal justice for the damages he sustained in the incident. Freund notes that as the devices have grown in popularity, the resulting explosions have also increased greatly in number.
As reported by a local NBC affiliate KOAA.com, a man inside of a Colorado Springs “Vape Store,” sustained second and third-degree burns when his e-cigarette battery exploded in his pocket. A local witness stated, “I had no idea a battery like that could cause that kind of damage.” Shortly after the incident, the victim made it his new mission to inform the public of the dangers the devices pose to consumers stating: “I don’t want it to happen to others, it definitely does not feel good.” The victim stated that he didn’t know that the battery could have potential consequences because there were no warnings on the packing of the e-cigarette.
This is not the first e-cigarette explosion, and due to the growing nationwide popularity of the devices, the number of explosions is regrettably likely to continue to grow. This is the seventh reported e-cigarette explosion in Colorado, which is among the highest totals of reported e-cig explosions for all U.S. states. Only 3 states have had more reported e-cigarette explosions, which are California (19), Arizona (11), and Oklahoma (8).
Lipsig, Shapey, Manus, & Moverman are currently looking to assist all e-cig explosion victims and are prepared to provide each victim with a free legal consultation. Marc Freund and the law firm believe that all victims should have the opportunity to completely evaluate their legal rights and potential courses of action. Freund notes that some victims may be entitled to financial compensation.
