Costa Rica Dentist Sets The Bar High For Dental Implants

August 29, 2016 – – Dr. Diego Gonzalez from Dental Land in San Jose, Costa Rica, has set the bar high for dental implants, even by U.S. standards. He completed his externship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Ohio University, and West Orlando Oral Surgery Clinic. During his externship, he and his team were performing more than 500 dental implants per month.

It should be noted that Costa Rica has been recognized as a less expensive alternative for Americans seeking high-end expensive dental care. Standards for dental services in Costa Rica are high and facilities in the area offer everything American dental offices offer, and even more in some cases. On the other hand, even though the standards in general are high, there are only a few dentists who are outdoing themselves and setting the bar even higher.

“It is wonderful to feel well rounded and serve my patients. I knew it was necessary to give back with volunteer work and also get exposure to the best clinics in the world to hone my craft,” says Dr. Gonzalez.

Dr. Gonzalez has volunteered for a number of years at the Costa Rica Children’s Hospital in the areas of pediatric surgery and pediatric oncology. Meanwhile, because of the strict requirements on certification in the United States, Dr. Gonzalez is the only Costa Rican dentist to have been awarded the title of Board Certified Maxillofacial Surgeon. All foreign dentists are required to complete rigorous hours of practice and to pass certification examinations to be awarded this honor. Dr. Gonzalez completed these requirements prior to heading back home to perform dental implants in Costa Rica.

Most consumers save between 50 to 70 percent on dental implant procedures in Costa Rica compared to the same procedure in the United States. A number of Costa Rica dental reviews show that patients get the same quality dental care, but at a much lower cost when they choose to have their procedures done in Costa Rica.

“My patients appreciate the fact that they can get their dental work completed at a lower cost than they would at home,” Dr. Gonzalez says. “Aside from that, Costa Rica is a beautiful place to recuperate after you’ve had dental surgery.”
