Costa Rica Massage Therapy School Announces Guest Instructor
September 16, 2015 – – The Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy in Samara, Nicoya, has announced that they will have an award winning instructor joining them on their faculty for part of their fall session. Ruth Werner will be joining the school this fall to assist in educating students of the 2015 Mariposa class. “We’re excited to have Ruth join our instructor team,” states Courtney Krenz, spokesperson for the massage therapy school.
Ruth Werner is the author of the pathology textbook used by the school, “A Massage Therapist’s Guide to Pathology,” and is a recent recipient of the NCBTMB Annual Chair Award. She is a certified massage therapist as well as an NCBTMB Approved Provider for Continuing Education in her field.
The NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork) presented Werner with their Annual Chair Award during the AFMTE Educational Congress earlier in 2015. This is the first award of its kind, and honors therapists who go out of their way to support the mission of the organization.
“We just can’t wait for our new class to get the benefit of her wisdom,” states Courtney Krenz. “These students are very lucky to have an instructor like Ruth coming onboard. They will learn so much under her tutelage. Given our location and our curriculum we are consistently able to attract the best instructors in the world, such as Ruth.” Werner is only expected to be instructing at the school during the fall semester.
The Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy is a certified member of the American Massage Therapy Association Council of Schools, as well as the Alliance for Massage Therapy Education, and is recognized by The U.S. National Board For Massage Therapy and Bodywork(NCBTMB). Their Costa Rica massage program is designed for English speaking students who want to study abroad to get the hours needed for their certification in massage therapy. The 600 hour curriculum includes courses that are required for students to be certified as massage therapists.
