CrediReady Slashes Price of Credit Monitoring Service to Help Victims of Equifax Hack

Comprehensive Credit Check Plans from CrediReady that were Originally $39 or More per Month are Now Priced at $19 and $29

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / October 16, 2017 / According to several major news outlets, as many as 143 million people’s personal information may have been compromised in the data breach of nationwide credit monitor Equifax – that is nearly half of the country. Nicholas Fiorentino, Chief Executive Officer of CrediReady, an online company that specializes in giving consumers the means to repair, monitor, and protect their credit scores, is announcing that CrediReady has reduced the prices of their credit monitoring services to assist the victims of the recent Equifax hack, which compromised millions of people’s social security numbers, credit scores and personal information.

As Fiorentino noted, CrediReady plans that were originally $39 a month have been reduced to $19 or $29; the $19 plan allows for a refresh of a consumer’s credit score once per quarter, while the $29 plan allows for a refresh every month. No matter which plan people choose, they will receive credit reports from the three main credit bureaus, a service which no other credit monitoring service offers at this price.

“Competitors charge over $40 a month to monitor only one or two bureaus—we are happy to include all three,” he said.

Both plans get consumers immediate access to their full credit report plus instant credit monitoring as well as 24/7 monitoring of all three bureaus. Identity theft insurance is also included on the $29 tier; this $1 million insurance policy comes with a $0 deductible.

CrediReady is the only service that monitors all three at this low of a price, and some other companies even sell the $1M insurance that CrediReady offers for free, a spokesperson for the company stated.

The Equifax data breach leaked the personal information of 143 million American consumers. This data includes Names, Social Security Numbers, DOBs, Addresses, Drivers’ License Numbers, as well as the credit card information of some consumers.

Buried inside of the TOS of the “free” Identity Theft Protection that Equifax responded with was an “Arbitration Clause” which some lawyers have argued may prevent users from joining a Class-Action Lawsuit against Equifax.

“Consumers need to be aware of their credit reports now more than ever. The details Equifax leaked are the ‘keys to the kingdom’ to identity thieves,” Fiorentino said.

“The data which Equifax exposed will absolutely cost American consumers tens of millions of dollars if not more. We must be vigilant in keeping our Credit Reports free of errors. Free apps that you download only monitor one or two of the three bureaus. Consumers need to make sure they have all three being monitored 24/7.”

Emiliano Urzua, Chief Credit Officer of CrediReady, agrees with Fiorentino.

“I recommend checking all your Credit Reports at all three bureaus and setting up Credit Monitoring as well that alerts you if someone is trying to get credit using your compromised information.”

By lowering the price of their credit monitoring products and giving their customers $1 million dollars in Identity Theft Insurance, CrediReady hopes to help consumers feel safe again. Fiorentino stated, “We see the effects of identity theft and the damage it can cause every day amongst our Credit Repair clients. We want to provide a service that everyone can afford that keeps consumers informed and protected.”
