Industrial PowerSource will be operated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Crown Battery. The acquisition includes the 20,000-sq. ft. IPS company facility, its combined resources, and its 25-employee staff. IPS is an important part of the Santa Fe Springs community and a long-time partner of Crown Battery.
“Crown and IPS have been working together closely for 15 years,” says Mark Kelley, Vice President of Crown Battery’s Industrial Products Group. “They’ve combined our products with their service and support to become one of SoCal’s premier motive power companies. And this strategic move will bring our teams even closer, so we can drive future growth and deliver even greater value and service to our customers.”
Crown Battery started operations in 1926 as a supplier of lead batteries for cars. An automated assembly process includes robotic welding, computerized mixing, and the industry’s heaviest plates — for longer life and improved performance. Crown batteries are also 99% recyclable, besting even the aluminum can.
Hal Hawk, President and CEO of Crown Battery, says, “We’re thrilled to welcome Industrial PowerSource to the Crown Battery family. We believe in their quality and reputation, and IPS is a leader in battery distribution and sales.
