Customer Survey Results Show Why Customers Are Spending More On Their Business Cards

Aura Print is a leading supplier of business cards and other marketing materials throughout the UK. As part of some product research, the team created a survey to see how customers purchase business cards online. 50 customers were questioned, leading to a report that reveals some telling data on customer purchasing behaviour. Overwhelmingly, the report indicated that more and more businesses are starting to increase spending on business cards. Customers often fell into two categories: spending more money to generate a larger quantity of business cards and spending more money to improve the quality of business cards.
Better Cards Mean Better Results
Of the customers surveyed, a massive 86% believed that thicker business cards look more professional. 72% chose to upgrade their business cards to have a luxury finish and 58% opted for a luxury business card so their customers will notice the attention to detail.
These findings indicate that businesses have clearly noticed a relationship between the quality of a business card and the effect it has on their customers. No longer are companies content with thin, papery business cards; they are willing to spend more money on luxury cards because the quality improves their reputation and can be used to entice more customers.
Furthermore, 58% of customers agree that foil business cards are more likely to be kept by customers, thus increasing the possibility of callbacks and enquiries. A further 30% agreed on this but are still yet to give it a go.
A Growing Emphasis On Business Cards
The survey continued to throw up very interesting data on customer behaviours, including one stat on budgets. Only 25% of customers buying business cards have a budget of less than £49. At the same time, the number of business cards purchased by order rose by 13% in one year, showing customers want to take advantage of bulk orders.
Both of these stats point to the growing emphasis that companies are placing on business cards. Clearly, they see them as more integral to marketing than they once were. This is further backed up by 20% of customers actively trying to hand out more business cards as they believe it helps sales. 24 % of customers also believe that making their card stand out will increase their ROI as it has a better chance of being kept.
Many more interesting stats were found throughout this survey, but it clearly underlines a shift in businesses’ approaches to business cards. The focus is on spending more money to get higher quality cards that will stand out and be noticed, thus benefiting the company. Card orders are also increasing as businesses realise the marketing power they provide.
