DEA Music Art School Announces Recital Schedule for 2016-17 Year

After 14 years, recitals are a show not to be missed at any of the campuses, reports DEAMusicandArt.com

Staten Island, NY – August 31, 2016 /MarketersMedia/ —

As school starts back in the New York area, parents around the area are inundated with possible after-school activities for their children. From soccer and football to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, they all sound like good ideas. But with professionals warning not to over-extend a child’s schedule, parents are often understandably confused about which activity is best suited for their child.

According to recent research, the benefits of music education extend much farther than just the orchestra pit or the marching of the football field. In fact, music and math are highly connected. Through the understanding of beats, rhythm, and scales, children learn to divide, create fractions, and recognize patterns. Through music, children are better able to comprehend other areas of math, according to experts in the field.

This comes as no surprise to Magi Kapllani, founder and director for DEA Music and Art school. The school, which has been providing Music, Art, and Theater classes for the last 14 years, caters to musical grades first through eighth with lessons in piano, violin, guitar, drums and brass, as well as voice. In addition to lessons, the school schedules recitals, believing music recitals are an effective way to help students develop their musicianship. Furthermore, the teachers feel recitals enable students to perform their prepared musical selections and demonstrate their abilities with real audiences in a supportive atmosphere. With this in mind, the three Staten Island locations are preparing an all-ensemble recital to take place this December.

According to Kapllani, this event promises a collaboration of their teachers and students, and a performance packed with selections from musicals such as Matilda, Lion King, and Les Miserable. “There will be band performances and pop music performed by students playing guitars, drums and keyboards. From Michael Jackson originals to Fireworks by Katy Perry and many more surprises. The event will entertain the entire family with non-stop entertainment. With a number of different students performing side by side, their talent will not only entertain but impress those attending.”

June and July will end the school year with the Deas annual end of spring recital. Kapllani, stating, “All members of the Dea family will perform, some alongside their amazing staff, and classmates, while some perform individually to highlight how far they have come in mastering their craft. This showcase embodies the very heart and soul of Dea Music and Art School, and never fails to be nothing short of amazing. Truly, the Dea brand is also an international name. With the London location making vast leaps and strides, Dea would also like to introduce the July 2017 Recital at their sister school in the UK. This reminds everyone that the arts are a language everyone all over the world shares. Truly, the students are the stars, and through Deas Recitals, they are able to be confident while showcasing their passions.”
