Sacramento, CA, United States – March 30, 2016 /PressCable/ —
The Deftones have launched a major media campaign ahead of their latest album release and the band’s upcoming summer tour. The Sacramento-based band has garnered international coverage, including a full cover story in Kerang!, one of the UK’s longest-running rock magazines. The glossy spread, which includes 8 pages of full-color photos, comes just ahead of the release of the alt rockers’ newest album, Gore, which is slated to land April 8. The magazine dubs the Deftones as “the band that changed rock,” and features a number of photos taken before and during their appearance at Sacramento’s own music-and-tats festival, Musink.
The long-time mainstays in the heavy metal scene have been rocking together for 28 years. Gore is the band’s eighth studio album, and their first release since 2012’s Koi No Yokan. It features the new single, “Prayers/Triangles,” which the band released online to fans in early March. The alternative metal band will hit the road starting in May, and will tour through the summer. The summer tour, which originally featured a limited number of cities, has been adding dates consistently throughout the month as Deftones tickets come online and sell out quickly. Tickets for some newly announced shows will be released to the public by Friday, April 1, while tickets for already scheduled dates are burning up the secondary concert ticket market.
The veteran rockers had previously canceled the remainder of their European tour last year after narrowly escaping the terrorist attack of Paris’ Bataclan theater. The band had been scheduled to play a three-day run at the theater, and had left the venue just 15 minutes before the attack. They have since played a number of shows, appearing at, among other venues, SXSW in Texas on March 18. The band has also been featured on the cover of Visions Magazine, and will play on Jimmy Kimmel Live on April 12.
Deftones tickets for all dates are selling briskly on the secondary ticket market, where tickets to see the Deftones cover a wide gamut of price points and availability. ConcertBank.com, a premiere concert third-party ticket market, notes that inventories on the secondary market are fluid and change frequently.
“The tickets you see today may be gone within a few hours,” said a site representative. “If you see great Deftones tickets at a good price, you should grab them before they sell out.”
