Depression is the leading cause in many suicide deaths, but many doctors conducted studies and hypothesized the leading cause of depression maybe due to a hormonal balance

Depression is a serious health concern. Not many people know that depression is an illness and think that people will get over it.

Depression is not a simple episode of a person just being a little bit too sensitive by a certain scenario neither it’s a stunt to glean sympathy. Depression should not be taken lightly and once identified should be handled with utmost care.

But what is really depression, in simple term depression is the feeling of extreme sadness, pain, loneliness, and helplessness that affects a person’s behavior and life.

People suffering this condition would often feel that their life has no meaning. They would have no interest in going out or socializing with others and would prefer locking themselves up in their room to be alone. They would have feelings of being worthless and being unneeded. And they also entertain the thought of death or suicide.

Other common symptoms of this condition are the loss of sleep, loss of appetite, difficulty concentrating, loss of vigor and chronic fatigue, and pessimism.

To understand this condition, many doctors have conducted studies on the what, how, and if of depression in hopes of finding a cure for the condition and to help those who are suffering it. Many have hypothesized on what is causing it, but one of the leading cause of depression is thought to be Hormonal imbalance.

Hormonal imbalance is a condition that affects the endocrine system that cause an abnormal production of hormones in the body. Hormones being produced are either more or less than what is the normal level.

Based on studies patients that are suffering from depression have a high amount of stress hormones in their bloodstream. These stress hormones cause or aggravate the person’s condition. Depression and hormonal imbalance go hand in hand. You can’t find one without the other. A person who is depressed would later develop hormonal imbalance or a person with hormonal imbalance would later develop depression.

Based on this understanding doctors often prescribe anti-depressant drugs to their patients in hopes of curbing or curing the condition. The treatment can work at the beginning, but in most cases after a few months of using the drug patients would often fall right back into depression.

Depression is a serious concern that should not be taken lightly and any individual suffering from the above symptoms should consider being tested by a professional doctor, who would be able to ascertain your mental as well as physical heath.
