Design for Recovery Sober Living Reveals The Winner of Their Sober Living Scholarship

Los Angeles sober living, Design for Recovery, awards their Sober Living Scholarship to Steve Rickard, a second-year student in the Indigenous Wellness Addiction Prevention program

Design for Recovery recently awarded their The Sober Living Scholarship to a second-year student in the Indigenous Wellness Addiction Prevention program to support his education as he continues in his sobriety journey. The scholarship was launched in line with the organization’s goal of helping people to start their journey towards a better life, considering the importance of education to the cause.

The disturbing increase in abuse of substance requires the attention of all stakeholders, especially as struggling addicts often require a helping hand to ease their sobriety journey. Recent reports have it that drug overdoses claim over 70,000 American lives yearly, a trend that needs to be halted as soon as possible. Consequently, the likes of Design for Recovery Sober Living are dedicating their resources to help people in such situations and lead them to a better life.

Steve Rickard was one of the applicants for The Sober Living Scholarship of $1,000, narrating his touching story in his winning essay.
