“It’s a great chance for Portland music lovers to watch this indie folk band well known for a break-up album,” said Beato. “They managed to steal people’s hearts with their hit single Skinny Love, but their music has since been known as ‘tricky,’, ‘expansive,’ and ‘inventive.’”
The Bon Iver tour also includes concerts in Chicago, Indianapolis, Santa Barbara, Vancouver, and more.
This February marked the 10th anniversary of the worldwide release of Bon Iver’s debut album entitled For Emma, Forever Ago, one of the defining break-up albums of the 2000s. Written by Vernon in rural Wisconsin as he nursed a broken heart. Bon Iver’s last studio album, 22, A Million, was released in 2016.
Justin Vernon recently announced he’s hosting a musical experience called Lock Inn at his hotel in Eau Claire, Wisconsin this spring.
The band has since won two Grammy’s – one for Best New Artist and another for Best Alternative Album in 2012. Three records have also been released, including the 2016 album, 22, A Million, which received another Grammy nomination in 2017. So far this year, there hasn’t been any announcements regarding new music, besides a song Vernon was featured on alongside Mouse on Mars, titled, “Dimensional People Part III.”
