Cornish Holiday Cottages has welcomed more dog-friendly cottages to its collection and now offers pet-friendly accommodation at over half of its property portfolio.

A Cornish holiday company has expanded its dog-friendly credentials by allowing pets to stay at over half its rental properties.

Cornish Holiday Cottages now promotes a total of 53 dog-friendly holiday homes and cottages in Falmouth and the surrounding area of South Cornwall. The collection can be seen on the pet-friendly section of the company’s website.

But the company’s dog-friendliness goes further than that, as the team now has three office dogs – Mingo, Maud and Marvin – who add to the laid-back vibe of the business based in Mawnan Smith near Falmouth.

Company owner Emily Boriosi said: “We’re mad about dogs at Cornish Holiday Cottages. They make great companions at work and keep us entertained. They have become unofficial mascots for the business.

“We can’t bear to be parted from our pets, so we totally understand why dog-friendly accommodation is so important to our holidaying guests.”

Last year the company received over 600 bookings from dog-owning holidaymakers, which was a significant increase on the previous year. The demand for dog-friendly holiday accommodation in Cornwall is growing all the time.

The range of dog-friendly holiday properties available include beach houses, riverside retreats, town apartments and countryside cottages. Most are located close to coastal trails, villages footpaths, parks and beaches where owners can enjoy long walks with their dogs.

Top places to stay in the area include the seaside town of Falmouth with its many dog-friendly attractions, pubs and cafés. Also popular are the wonderfully scenic villages of Durgan, Helford River, Mawnan Smith, Helford Passage and Mylor.
