In 2017, Don’s Bay Area Painting, Inc. celebrated their 15th anniversary of providing residential house painting services in the area of Brandon, Florida. Upon reaching this significant milestone, owner and operator of this family business, Don Murry, made the decision to give back to the heroes in the local community. He, along with the entire staff, decided this was the perfect way to signify 15 years of service.

To show his appreciation for the service provided by military veterans and first responders, Don offered a free house painting for the home of a local hero in need.

“Our plan to give recognition and free services to a local hero was a huge success,” stated Don’s Bay Area Painting spokesperson Scott Michie. “We accepted stories from local heroes and had quite a few submissions from family members and friends of those in the community. Don took charge of selecting the winner, who was Major Joseph Brod, USAF, Retired.”

The majority of Brandon, Florida residents are familiar with “Mr. Brod,” as he has been a Physics teacher at Bloomingdale High School, located in Hillsborough County, for the past 23 years. Mr. Brod started teaching soon after his 20 years of service in the United States Air Force. As the winner of this giveaway, Don’s Bay Area Painting provided professional house painting services for Mr. Brod’s home.

“Don Murray and the entire staff at Don’s Bay Area Painting were thrilled to be able to give back and use this as a way to celebrate 15 years of committed service in the area,” continued Michie. “In addition to providing the manpower to paint Mr. Brod’s home, Eammon Doyle from PPG Paints in Tampa donated the paint to handle the job.”
