March 07, 2016 – – Douglas A. Fendrick, Esq. of Fendrick & Morgan LLC, will be speaking at the Estate and Financial Planning Council of Southern New Jersey Breakfast on March 17, 2016. He will be discussing “Estate Planning for Same Sex Couples.” The event will be held at the Mansion in Voorhees, located in Voorhees Township, New Jersey.

The event is designed to bring attention to obstacles same sex couples may face, as well as to offer support on the subject. Fendrick & Morgan LLC is happy to share their expertise with other Estate Planning professionals at the conference. Douglas A. Fendrick, Esq. said, “It is a very exciting time to be doing estate planning for same sex couples. The legal landscape, which now permits same sex couples to marry in New Jersey, opens many more doors for our planning for the LGBT community. I’m looking forward to speaking to the South Jersey Estate and Financial Council about these planning opportunities.”

The breakfast conference will take into consideration the unique opportunities which differ for these couples when compared with heterosexual partners, and shed some light on ways that those in attendance can use these differences to their clients’ advantage. Those who will attend the breakfast have been notified that they may also qualify for CE credits through the Estate and Financial Planning Council of Southern New Jersey, Inc. This subject can be inquired upon during the event.

For those who want to learn more, the topics to be discussed over the breakfast will include the provisions in a will, whether or not couples require a trust, the general durable power of attorney, healthcare power of attorney, tax implications on married and non-married couples, tax issues for same sex couples, and beneficiary designations. Other subjects may also be broached at the event, to give attendees the best chance at achieving the most from their estate planning experience.

To know more about the breakfast, speakers, and information on the possibility of CE credits, individuals and firms are invited to contact the Planning Council directly.
