Drug Application For Niraparib Completed As Talcum Powder Lawsuit Filings Progress

November 10, 2016 – – TheProductLawyers.com reports on a recent article by OncLive indicating that a drug application that affects ovarian cancer patients has just been completed.

OncLive stated in an article that “A new drug application (NDA) to the FDA has been completed for niraparib as a maintenance treatment for women with recurrent platinum-sensitive ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer.” The application is based on the phase III NOVA trial. The trial indicated that niraparib reduced the risk of progression or death by 73 percent compared with placebo for patients with germline BRCA-positive platinum-sensitive, recurrent ovarian cancer, the article stated.

Ovarian cancer has become a spotlight issue lately amid a growing number of lawsuits claiming that the use of Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder leads to the development of the deadly disease. Many women have filed lawsuits that have now exceeded over 1,000 in number nationwide. These suits state that Johnson & Johnson should be held responsible and should face charges of fraud, negligence and several others. Johnson & Johnson has continuously denied that their products are linked to cancer and has not issued any warning on the products.

The plaintiffs in these cases are citing nearly 40 years of research that has been done on talcum powder. While some claim that the powders may be linked to the deadly disease, others have found evidence inconclusive.

As these lawsuits are expected to grow in numbers, Banville Law is seeking to help those currently suffering. The firm has many years of experience fighting large pharmaceutical companies who have put dangerous drugs and devices onto the market, foregoing public safety for corporate greed. Attorneys at Banville Law want to assist those who believe they have been directly affected by the use of Johnson’s talcum powder. Affected individuals may be entitled to financial compensation and legal action. Banville Law is currently offering free consultations to individuals who qualify.
