Dublin’s Synergy Clinic has been renamed The Amatsu Clinic. Founded by David McCarthy in 2001, the clinic has treated more than 5,000 patients in 17 years.

Dublin’s Synergy Clinic is now The Amatsu Clinic Dublin.

The Synergy Clinic was founded in 2001 by David McCarthy as one of the first clinics in Ireland to specialise in Amatsu Therapy. In the 17 years in business it has treated over 5,000 patients.

When the clinic was founded Amatsu was not well known in Ireland and the name Synergy Clinic was selected to reflect the holistic nature of the treatment. Now that the practice of Amatsu is more widely known it was felt that a rebranding was appropriate.

“Amatsu was a niche practice 17 years ago but it is now much more well known, and is covered by all the main health insurers,” according to David McCarthy. “As a result I felt that the name The Amatsu Clinic was much more descriptive.”

Along with renaming the clinic itself the rebranding includes a new website, theamatsuclinic.ie. This not only includes information about the clinic but is a resource describing Amatsu itself and Amatsu Therapy Association (ATA) approved courses.

Amatsu Therapy is a modern codification of ancient Japanese philosophies that treats the body as an interconnected system. For instance a bad knee could be a result of a direct injury on the knee. But the posture (total body position) and the natural walking and standing pattern of the client could also have led to the progressive damage and degeneration of the knee, therefore creating a vulnerable area. The Amatsu therapist is trained to identify the bigger picture when assessing any condition.

David McCarthy, Amatsu Orthopath is fully qualified, insured, and health insurance recognised. His practical and theoretical experience has been the foundation of the clinics success over the last 17 years. The clinic obtains the majority of its patients from word of mouth from previous clients, sports, business and medical referrals.

David is joined in practice by his brother Alan, who is also an Amatsu Orthopath, having studied under David in his Co owned Amatsu Academy. Alan has been working in the clinic since 2015.

The Amatsu Clinic operates during the hours of 8am-9:30pm Monday to Friday and 9am-3pm on Saturday. Treatment is by appointment only.
