Maffullo has long held a passion for music, having started lessons in classical piano as a child and continuing to play into adulthood. After finding that the classical compositions were not to his taste, he took a hiatus from music to pursue a degree in engineering.

While professionally Maffullo continued on with his studies in engineering, the passion for music remained. Finally, he decided it was time to put his own skills to use to create something to benefit other musicians.

As a spokesperson for the project noted, musicAcademia is an e-learning platform filled with Maffullo’s interpretations of modern songs.

“He composes and arranges all the songs by ear, converting them into scores on piano for other musicians to download,” the spokesperson said, adding that this will be a space for new musicians to learn how to read scores and play by ear with the help of online lessons, which is what Maffullo does every time he goes to arrange a song.

Those wishing to play their favorite modern pieces will benefit from the scores Maffullo has written, as well as articles on how to start, equipment advice, and more.

In order to help get his new e-Learning academy website up and running and also cover the costs associated with getting his new business started, Maffullo recently launched a fundraiser on Kickstarter. He hopes to raise $3,051 through crowdfunding.

As Maffullo noted, everyone should be able to learn the music that he or she likes.

“I will post my personal arranged scores and lessons on how to start playing, both by reading scores and by ear,” he said, adding that on the new e-Learning musicAcademia website, people can directly download the piano scores that they especially like.
