Today Entr.co announces the launch of its it’s new UK competition platform designed to help brands and businesses get their product messages to audiences on a highly-targeted pay-per-engagement model.

Operating in beta since November 2014, the site has already built up a database of 150,000 members.

The London based start-up works with brand owners, advertising agencies and affiliate networks to create highly engaging promotions which are targeted to help achieve marketing objectives whether that is awareness, engagement, social reach or sales.

Brands that have partnered with Entr.co so far include The Hospital Club, the private members’ club in Covent Garden who built a promotion to announce the launch of their new hotels rooms; Tessabit.com, the Italian online fashion retailer, Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, and The Body Shop.

Entr.co operates like a flash sale site – daily emails are sent with promotions from brands who have new product and service announcements in search of an audience. All promotions are targeted by age, gender and location, which members must provide upon registration. Members enter promotions by undertaking key actions such as subscribing to the brand’s newsletter, following them on social media or customer insight.

After the winner is picked all entrants usually receive an exclusive promotional code or product sample. Consumers are rewarded for learning about new products and services and advertisers get their message out to targeted audiences.

Entr.co aims to be radical in its transparency with advertisers – every merchant gets their own dashboard which provides live updates on the performance of their promotion including pageviews, entries and engagement rate along with age, gender and location of all entrants and social sharing metrics.

Entr.co, was founded by CEO David Marrinan-Hayes, who previously spent two years consulting on strategy at MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, leading its sale to Monitise Plc and held the Head of Product Role at newspaper publisher Trinity Mirror and CTO Michael Lake.

David Marrinan-Hayes says “We talked to hundreds of brand owners, PRs and media buyers who were looking for ways to get specific marketing messages to consumers rather than blanket promotions. We wanted to develop a product that would meet their needs and encourage users to engage with them. Competitions have excellent engagement rates but have always been the low man on the marketing totem pole so we wanted to develop a product which could make promotions desirable and insightful for brands. Entr.co is massively flexible so we can help brands do anything from driving in-store traffic to getting consumers to share their new products on social media and we can make sure brands can see their results in real time. ”
