Equally Immigrant Social Movement and Line of Sweatshirts are Officially Announced
The High-Quality and Comfortable Sweatshirts will Say Where the Wearer’s Family is Originally From, Reminding Others that Everyone’s Relatives Were Originally Immigrants
LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 20, 2017 / Walter Miltenberger, an engineer from Houston, Texas, is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of his new line of sweatshirts called Equally Immigrant.

As a spokesperson for the project noted, Equally Immigrant was started by a family that wanted to encourage unity by reminding everyone that no matter how long their family has been in the United States, their relatives all immigrated at some point.
“Don Miller started the movement in reaction to his wife Betsy’s concern that recent immigrants and even the descendants of recent immigrants might feel unwelcome in the United States,” the spokesperson said, adding that in response to these concerns, the Millers suggested creating a sweatshirt that said “French Immigrant,” a reference to Betsy’s French background.
“Over time, the entire family, regardless of political affiliation and background, was embracing the idea. At Thanksgiving they found themselves appreciating the variable views and personalities of their family members rather than arguing about differing political views.”
Don and his brother in law, Walter Miltenberger, set about creating sweatshirts for anyone to wear. Whether Irish, Chinese, French, Lebanese, or any other origin, everyone would be able to proudly display their heritage while letting others know that they embraced and celebrate diversity.
In order to help pay for the marketing and production costs associated with bringing their Equally Immigrant line of sweatshirts to the public, Miltenberger recently launched a successful fundraiser on Kickstarter. Over 200 backers pledged $12,089 to help bring this project to life.
“Our designs remind people that no matter how far back you have to go, we’re all immigrants. Our diversity makes America great,” Miltenberger said, adding that in the end, laws can keep the peace, but they can’t connect people.
“Only our stories can do that. I’m proud of my family for wearing a little bit of their story on their sweatshirts.”
