As a company spokesperson noted, more chefs and casual cooking enthusiasts are experimenting with exotic vegetables and fruits. Import and export of non-native produce items are making it easier than ever, and consumers and producers are eager to keep the trend up.

“As the demand continues to grow for high quality items, Roypack Enterprises is rising to the occasion with an incredible farming project,” the spokesperson said, adding that the Kenya-based company is dedicated to providing horticultural products for export to Europe and Asia.

Roypack already boasts a passionate team that aims to ensure high quality products. Now, the company is hoping to grow and increase its volume of export and establish export to African destinations. The team is dedicated to sustainable farming techniques that benefit local and small farmers.

“They’ll be adding exotic varieties of produce to the market, as well as popular staples,” the spokesperson said, adding that the new project is already creating quite a buzz in the food and production spaces.

In order to help pay for the start-up costs associated with launching their project, Ngugi and his company team have just launched a fundraiser on Indiegogo. There, they hope to raise $200,000 through crowdfunding.

Funds from the campaign will be used to acquire and maintain more land, maintain production and factory processing costs, and other expenses that will get more small farmers growing.

“The key objective is to start a professionally managed and properly marketed fresh fruits and vegetables export business, with a potential to diversify to flower growing and exports,” the spokesperson said.
