Anyone who has shopped for furniture lately has probably noticed that much of what is available today is made of inexpensive composite material. Treasure-hunters long for the quality of older furniture, but wish there was a way to modernize it to meet today’s contemporary décor needs. Now there is a location where shoppers can find quality repurposed and upcycled furniture pieces which have been lovingly transformed into something new and beautiful by a talented artist.

Nancy Sheeler, owner of Transitional REdesign and an industry leader in repurposed and upcycled furniture, announces the opening of Transitional REdesign as part of the company’s 5000 square foot location at 601 Towpath Rd, Suite J in Broadview Heights OH. Conveniently located to serve Cleveland, Akron/Canton, Medina and the surrounding communities, Transitional REdesign is a local artist gallery and repurposed furniture store with an ever-changing collection of unique and stylish upcycled furniture.

Members of Northeast Ohio communities are invited to attend a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday June 25 and an all-day grand opening celebration on Friday June 26, 2015.

The Ribbon Cutting celebration will run from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., with the ribbon cutting taking place at 5:00 p.m. Entertainment will be provided QS Jazz, with food available from Barrio’s Food Truck, which was voted the number one food truck in Cleveland.

Friday’s Grand Opening Celebration will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Joe Sasina, a one man band, with a return appearance by Barrio’s Food Truck.

Repurposed furniture is an environmentally friendly way of getting the most from our limited natural resources. Instead of throwing out older, quality pieces and replacing them with new, lower-quality furniture, Transitional REdesign takes those pieces and upstyles them into beautiful contemporary works of art that will add the perfect complement to any home. “Local Cleveland artist, Stephanie Sibits, has been creating painted, upcycled and repurposed furniture for the past 12 years,” commented Transitional Design owner, Nancy Sheeler. “Stephanie is constantly creating new repurposed furniture designs, and she can also create custom pieces to the customer’s personal specifications.”

Examples of repurposing furniture include turning a bed headboard into a bench, doors into desks or entertainment centers into a play kitchen. Sheeler and Sibits say that the new use of a piece is only limited by imagination and creativity.
