Fortiline Consolidates Sumter, S.C. Locations

CONCORD, NC / ACCESSWIRE / September 22, 2015 / Fortiline Waterworks (Fortiline), one of the largest waterworks distributors in the United States, announced today that it will consolidate the company’s two Sumter locations into one facility. Fortiline also announced it will be phasing out the central distribution portion of its business over the next 45 days.

“With the recent acquisition of Independent Waterworks Supply & Services, we found ourselves with two locations in the same geographic area,” said Mike Swedick, Fortiline President and COO. “In reviewing this situation over the last four months, we came to the conclusion that we not only needed to consolidate the two locations, but that we had also outgrown the benefits of central distribution in the Carolinas. During the consolidation of these two facilities, we will phase out this portion of our business.”

“The Sumter central distribution center location came to Fortiline as a result of an acquisition in 2007,” said Ben Cagle, Fortiline’s VP of Operations. “Up until that time the central distribution center was a crucial piece for our business, but over time, as we have grown and added more branches, central distribution has become less effective.”

Effective today, Fortiline’s two Sumter facilities will be consolidated into the existing facility located at:
