Free and Interactive Human Rights Educational Materials Offered to Help in the Midst of Rising Human Rights Violations
Restoring dignity and worth of the human person, Youth for Human Rights International offers high quality materials educating youth and people of all ages on their fundamental human rights
Washington, DC, USA – April 18, 2024 /MarketersMEDIA/ —
Recent events around the world have shown that human rights abuses are still occurring with regularity. The goal of a world where people treat each other with respect and dignity is far from a reality. Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI) addresses these issues with “What Are Human Rights?” educational booklets provided free of charge and available for download with videos and a short documentary to fully explain the history of human rights.
YHRI is dedicated to educating people about their human rights, based on the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). There are 30 articles in the UDHR and learning those articles empowers youth to become leaders as well as advocates for peace and tolerance. https://www.un.org/en/about-us/universal-declaration-of-human-rights
“Youth for Human Rights International focuses on preventive actions. We are working to change the course of the future by preventing the abuses from happening in the first place through broad scale education in the 30 basic human rights. Human rights education is the key to reversing our moral crisis,” said Sylvia Stanard, a Youth for Human Rights organizer.
Youth for Human Rights holds numerous educational seminars throughout the year, as well as an annual summit at the United Nations which is scheduled for July 2024.
The increasing interest of young people in learning their human rights led to the creation of 30 accompanying audiovisual public service announcements (PSAs). Each powerful PSA illustrates an article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights through scenarios that appeal to anyone, enabling individuals of any age and literacy level to understand and apply this document.
Filling the need for high-quality and effective human rights education, Youth for Human Rights offers a free online course to educate students in basic human rights and provides educators worldwide with complete education packages in 17 languages, free of charge.
Youth for Human Rights materials can be downloaded for free from www.youthforhumanrights.org. Educators can request a free educator kit on the website. The Youth for Human Rights Educator’s Guide contains lesson plans, enrichment activities, ideas for activating students on human rights education and a list of specific correlations of the lessons to model education standards. This is a resource for implementing a complete human rights curriculum in a class or school, or can be integrated into an existing curriculum.
