FSG Electrical Student One of 60 Participants Chosen to Visit the White House

Jeff Hawk an employee with FSG Kansas City, who is entering the second year of his electrical apprenticeship through ABC, was chosen to go to the White House as a part of the Pledge to American Workers.

Jeff Hawk, an employee with FSG Electric in Kansas City, recently took part in a program celebrating the first anniversary of President Trump’s Pledge to America’s Workers. Jeff was one of 60 participants from across the country and was invited to share his experiences with the nation’s leaders.

The Pledge to America’s Workers was inaugurated on July 19, 2018. In an Executive Order issued from the White House, the president established the National Council for the American Worker. The Council’s task under this initiative is to foster job growth by encouraging American companies to invest in job development and training programs here at home. FSG has always been committed to hiring, training, and developing skilled tradespeople, and was excited to be represented by Jeff at the event. In addition to FSG, there were workers chosen from Lockheed Martin, Toyota, and others.

Steve Frank, Division Manager at FSG Kansas City, praised Jeff. “Jeff is representative of what we see in the industry every day across this countrymen and women who are skilled, dedicated, and driven to make this country better one project a time.” Steve went on to reiterate FSG’s determination to see more men and women improving themselves through their employment. “FSG is committed to providing more opportunities for professional and personal growth for our team members and customers.”

FSG’s Talent Acquisition Specialist, Amanda Rogers said, “It started with two college students in a van and it continues with the hundreds of skilled tradespeople – electricians, technicians, welders, fabricators, installers, specialists, you name it – going out every day making it happen. It is an exciting time for sure and I can’t help but think we are just getting started.”
