Garcinia Cambogia: What Consumers Need to Know & Is it Effective for Weight Loss?

SAN PABLO, CA / ACCESSWIRE / June 12, 2015 / Garcinia Cambogia has recently been in the spotlight for its unique weight loss abilities. The pumpkin like fruit from which Garcinia Cambogia is derived (Malabar Tamarind), has long been used to enhance the culinary experience of certain South-East Asian dishes, and is now being recognized as the most effective weight loss ingredients available. However, a new study released by WeightLoss InfoGuide shows since Garcinia Cambogia supplements have gained in popularity, product quality has gone “downhill,” often providing minimal, or no results to some users. The active weight loss ingredient in Garcinia Cambogia is Hydroxycitric Acid, HCA is reported to promote fat burning and to naturally suppress the appetite.

Because of the popularity of Garcinia Cambogia, many reports are now surfacing regarding its quality and effectiveness. A new study from a popular online website suggests that the majority of Garcinia Cambogia supplements sold do not contain enough of the active ingredient HCA for weight loss. The recommended dose of HCA for weight loss is 800-1500 mg daily with 50-60 percent HCA levels. These levels are found to be efficient for fast and effective weight loss. Through lab testing, it was again recently discovered that some of the most popular products sold contain as little as 8 percent of the active ingredient HCA, rendering these products utterly useless. “It became apparent that Garcinia Cambogia can truly help with fast weight loss, providing the grade of the product meets the standard,” said researcher Kelly Morrow. To look further into this matter, WeightLoss InfoGuide has recently conducted its own testing and again the same results were found. Roughly only 25 percent of the Garcinia products tested assisted with weight loss. Teri Adams, a participant of a recent study conducted by WeightLoss InfoGuide has undergone what she calls a “full body transformation,” aided with the use of Garcinia Cambogia. Adams lost a total of 22 pounds and 16 percent of her body fat while using the supplement for 30 days. “The truth is many people do not always see these results when using Garcinia Cambogia. Only a few are experiencing these results, these results often always depend on the products bing used,” said researcher Kelly Morrow. HOW GARCINIA CAMBOGIA WORKS

The active ingredient in Garcinia Cambogia has been identified as hydroxycitric acid. It is said HCA blocks fat and suppress the appetite. It inhibits a key enzyme called citrate lyas, that the body needs to make fat from carbohydrates resulting in weight loss. More recent findings show Garcinia Cambogia may also suppress appetite by increasing serotonin levels; low serotonin levels are associated with depression and reactive eating. Many short-term studies show how Garcinia Cambogia extract decreases LDL cholesterol and triglycerides by 10-30%, while raising levels of the “good cholesterol” HDL.

In the WeightLoss InfoGuide’s study, results were found to increase with dosage, but doses over 3000 mg a day should be cleared by a doctor. At the recommended levels, Garcinia Cambogia allegedly decreases belly fat, suppresses appetite, controls emotional eating, and changes body composition by increasing lean muscle mass. IS GARCINIA CAMBOGIA SAFE?

It appears Garcinia Cambogia is a safe supplement to consume, but like anything else certain health conditions may contradict the use of this supplement. Many professionals do warn against using the product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Although high quality Garcinia Cambogia is completely natural, it can potentially cause hypoglycaemia in diabetic patients, and complications if a patient is taking cholesterol lowering drugs such, as it may increase the risk of side effects like rhabdomyolysis. If these conditions apply to you, it is advised to speak with a doctor before you start using Garcinia Cambogia for weight loss.

DOES GARCINIA CAMBOGIA REALLY WORK?

It appears that Garcinia Cambogia does in fact work to some extent to improve weight loss, but until there is an accurate and accredited long-term study inexplicably proving it’s effectiveness, ambitious claims such as “miracle in a bottle” should be used cautiously. WeightLoss InfoGuide feels weight loss supplements are best used as a tool alongside a healthy lifestyle, rather then a magical silver bullet. There has been many claims promoting Garcinia Cambogia as a “miracle pill,” and the results are achieved without diet or exercise; however, it is clear this supplement delivers the best results when taken aside a healthy diet and regular exercise. A dose of 500 – 1000 mg of Garcinia Cambogia before each meal, combined with healthy eating and moderate exercise is recommended to see the best results.
