GetSocial and Frankly Partner to Offer Social Engagement and Monetization Platform for Game Developers

SAN FRANCISCO, CA / ACCESSWIRE / July 7, 2015 / Today, leading chat-as-a-service company Frankly Inc. (TSX VENTURE: TLK) (“Frankly”) and GetSocial (“GetSocial”), a powerful social engagement platform for gaming apps, announced a partnership to bring Frankly’s advanced chat SDK platform and mobile messaging expertise to GetSocial’s suite of tools.

Based in North America and Europe, respectively, these technology partners will help global gaming companies foster engagement and maximize revenue on mobile. The booming mobile gaming industry generates nearly $100 billion per year in revenue worldwide.

GetSocial builds fully customizable, analytics-powered social engagement tools for gaming apps on iOS, Android, and Unity to increase their virality, retention, and revenue. Partners include Hutch’s popular MMX Racing, Megapop, Playspace, Poptacular, and Ruzzle Adventure, one of the iOS App Store’s top featured games of 2014. Customers report increases in retention rates up to 300% and 20% in organic growth.

The partnership will bring Frankly’s robust, scalable chat technology to GetSocial’s platform to support community-building and messaging-based engagement within mobile games. Game developers who use GetSocial will still experience its trademark lightweight integration and be able to fully customize the look and feel of the chat interface.

Frankly’s messaging technology lets brands foster strong communities on their mobile apps and open new revenue channels through features like group chats, advanced tracking, advertising and content distribution optimized for the mobile experience. Notable partners include the Sacramento Kings and the Office of Congressman Charles Rangel.

“Frankly’s product and executive teams have deep roots in gaming, including our VP of Product and VP of Engineering, who held leadership positions at GREE and Zynga, respectively,” said Frankly CEO, Steve Chung. “We’re excited to strengthen our ties with the gaming world through our partnership with GetSocial, who have shown amazing traction with integrations in key games and an exciting pipeline of customers in the coming year.”

“Mobile messaging is a killer feature on mobile, and integrating Frankly’s robust chat technology will allow us to stretch and test the boundaries of messaging as a driver of community and retention for gaming apps — not to mention the potential acquisition and revenue benefits for our customers,” said GetSocial founder and CPO, Adam Palmer. “The partnership comes at a time when we are focused on scaling and serving large global players in the gaming world.”
