Girl Scouts to Host Grand Opening Celebration September 13-14
August 28, 2019 – – Abilene, TX—Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains will celebrate the grand opening of its new service center at 4150 Southwest Drive Suite 140, starting with a ribbon cutting on Friday, September 13 at 11 am and a Grand Opening event on Saturday, September 14 from 10 am – 2 pm.
The event is free and open to the public. Activities for kids of all ages will include Girl Scout Cookie and product tastings, SWAPs, and badge workshops. There will also be free swag bags for the first 25 girls to attend the Saturday celebration as well as door prizes.
The 1425-square-foot facility is conveniently located off Southwest Drive and the loop and houses 3 full-time staff, a small conference space for Girl Scout programming, and a retail shop stocked with everything a Girl Scout needs.
“Girl Scouts serves over 300 girls in Abilene and surrounding counties, giving them the tools to lead, break barriers, and create positive change,” said Becky Burton, CEO of Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains. “We’re excited to share a fresh, new space with our Girl Scouts and dedicated volunteers and look forward to offering the transformative experience of Girl Scouting to even more girls in the Abilene community.”
