Globality Launches with a Radical New Approach to Global Business
Company’s platform combines AI and human curation to match client companies with ideal local-scale service providers anywhere in the world, Globality reports
MENLO PARK, Calif – April 5, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —
Even in this age of globalization, large organizations often have trouble connecting with the smaller agencies around the world that could serve particular projects the best. Globality aims to change that with a unique new platform that will help global-scale businesses find the SME marketing, legal, environmental, and other service providers they need.
With former Current TV leader Joel Hyatt as co-founder and CEO , Globality counts Mark Hurd of Oracle, Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers Senior Partner Juliet de Baubigny, and Andersen Tax Managing Director and CEO Mark Vorsatz among its board members. The startup has drawn nearly $40 million in funding from investors including former Vice President Al Gore and Ken Goldman of Yahoo, with over 350 agencies now listed on its platform and ready to provide services.
“Our mission is to make globalization work for more businesses and people around the world,” Hyatt said in a statement prepared for the service’s official launch, “We will bring buyers and sellers unprecedented access to new business opportunities.”
Globality will focus first on service areas where regulation poses less of a hurdle to getting started. With candidate agencies vetted and limited in size to 500 employees, the company enables searches for projects budgeted at $100,000 and up. Project-winning agencies are charged a one-time 15-percent fee, with clients placing funds into escrow at contract signing to ensure timely payment.
With its full-time staff currently numbering 75, Globality employs a proprietary approach to help clients find the most suitable small and mid-sized agency partners anywhere in the world. Instead of being forced to rely on existing, global-level partners for projects of focused geographic scope, Globality will help clients make use of the locally informed expertise of smaller agencies that would otherwise have been overlooked.
That style of matchmaking depends upon a combination of AI-powered technology and the ability of the company’s domain experts to curate the results, noted Deborah Conrad, Globality’s Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer. It has already been applied with great success, for example, to help a Scandinavian jet engine manufacturer find the perfect marketing partner to develop its brand and social media strategy in South Korea.
As the young company builds momentum, it plans to expand its platform beyond marketing, environmental, energy, law, and social impact services, as well. Those interested can learn more at the Globality website.
