When the British Standard for good practice on the testing and verification of Gas Protection Systems for Buildings against Hazardous Ground Gases, BS8485:2015 was radically updated in 2015, it made independent Verification and Testing mandatory and to be included in the specification (if excluded a building may receive a zero CS/GSV rating & use prohibited).

The majority of Local Authorities now insist on Independent Verification on all of their regional sites requiring ground gas protection systems to be installed. This is in evidence through the YAHPAC Technical Guidance – Verification requirements for gas protection systems document.

As members of the CPD Service and one of the leading Ground Gas Protection Verification companies throughout the UK mainland Europe and the Middle East GeoShield are focused on improving the construction industries knowledge in the use of the many & varied ground gas protection systems available and the associated validation & verification programs which are now often mandatory.
