Groundbreaking Ceremony for First Affordable Shipping Container Home Being Built in Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS, FL – On Monday, Sept 30th at 10AM, Build Everyday Better in partnership with Ecotech Visions will be hosting a ground breaking ceremony to announce the construction of an affordable home build using shipping containers. Made possible through a partnership with Miami-Dade County with the support of Commissioner Barbara Jordan, this is another step towards addressing the affordable home crisis that is affecting South Florida.

A graduate of the Mission 2 Market program headed by Dr. J. Chris Ford of Florida International University’s Applied Research Center (m2m.fiu.edu), Build Everyday Better founder Nathaniel Crawford and industry mentors Fernando Argiro and Santiago Pillado Matheu of Ecotainer Concept have designed and built a series of beautiful, affordable shipping container homes to be built throughout South Florida. “The affordable housing issue is connected to many other issues here in South Florida, from employment to education. This partnership will allow us to begin making meaningful impact on addressing these issues and provide a framework for larger development opportunities,” says Nathaniel Crawford, Founder of Build Everyday Better.

Through the current partnership with Ecotech Visions and Miami Dade County, Build Everyday Better is developing another lot in Miami Gardens which will be announced in the near future. Build Everyday Better is actively seeking partners for other affordable home development opportunities throughout South Florida. According to Nathaniel, “Historically, building beautiful, affordable homes profitably has been an issue in the development community. Using shipping containers and innovative technology allows us to build beautiful homes at any price point.”

These development projects are a pilot for a greater plan to create more affordable housing on infill lots throughout South Florida. It has the potential to be a model approach to addressing South Florida’s ongoing affordable housing crisis.

Groundbreaking ceremony for this first affordable shipping container home being built in Miami Gardens, in partnership with Build Everyday Better Inc., Ecotech Visions, will be held on Monday Sep. 30th, 2019 at 10AM at 2481 NW 152 st Miami Gardens, FL 33054.

Build Everyday Better is a South Florida based Startup that leverages technology and environmentally friendly building materials to build affordable eco-friendly homes and lower construction costs and shorten construction times.
