“This year we’ve shifted all our focus on removing ice dams and ice from gutters”. Tomlinson said. “Most homeowners realize the potential damage that the ice dams can cause to their homes, but don’t have the equipment to deal with it in a safe and effective way, so we’ve adjusted our business model to help.”
Ice dams are caused when water freezes before it can get off the roof, forming a dam. The dam then pushes water up underneath the roofing causing damage to the home exterior and even water leakage into the house.
Unfortunately, for many Boise homeowners, the damaging effects of the ice dams have already begun, with many experiencing water seepage into the floors, through walls and light fixtures, as well as damage to gutters roof and siding.
Tomlinson says his company is scheduling 10 to 12 ice dam removal projects per day, and even though the demand is high, they have been able to get to most everyone on the same day or next day.
“Our crews have been working quickly and efficiently to get to every customer as fast as we can. We’ve got all hands on deck working extra hours and weekends to keep up with demand.”
