Petaling Jaya, Malaysia – May 15, 2018 /MarketersMedia/ —
His Eminence the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, spiritual advisor of the Malaysian based Kechara Buddhist Association, is glad to congratulate all Brothers and Sisters of Islam on the occasion of the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
In his message, Tsem Tulku Rinpoche reinforces the critical importance of peace and friendship between all three Abrahamic faiths as well as Buddhism, and indeed all religions: “It is important to build and promote not only the concept but also the practice of cultivating religious harmony so as to meet the challenges posed by religious diversity in a globalized world at very complex times.”
Tsem Tulku Rinpoche added that on the basis of recognizing religious diversity, all religions should magnify mutual understanding and empathy through dialogue, and together shoulder the common responsibility of upholding peace and justice, and foster intra- and inter-religious solidarity and benevolence between the religious communities and broader society.
On 17 May the Holy month of Ramadan starts, and around the world, all Brothers and Sisters in Islam are invited to contemplate the Holy Verses, to impose self-restraint in order to achieve peace and harmony within each person, leading to goodwill in the local and global community. As hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide will fast and offer prayers to attain righteousness, peace and prosperity for families, loved ones and acquaintances, “let us as Buddhist and Muslims all together review our deeds and intentions aimed at strengthening Ummah for Muslims and Sangha for Buddhists at large, as well as contributing to the message of harmony and understanding between all on this planet” added Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.
He concluded by sending his prayers for those Muslims and all mankind who are suffering as a result of war, oppression, discrimination or natural disasters in the different countries of the world. While wishing best of health, lots of happiness, peace and prosperity he expressed the wish to continue developing cooperation for the sake of strengthening peace and understanding between cultures and civilizations. Religion should be the instrument to foster generosity, kindness and understanding and not be used to divide people, families and communities, says Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, praising the noble practice of fasting during the Holy Month of Ramadan and thanking governments in the world, such as the Malaysian government for observing and protecting the rights of citizens to practice their chosen faith without fear of persecutions.
