Happy Ears Hearing Center To Hold Deaf Awareness, Butterflies & Happy Ears Event
September 19, 2018 – – Happy Ears Hearing Center, a hearing solutions provider in Scottsdale, AZ, has announced that it has partnered with Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale, AZ, for the Deaf Awareness, Butterflies & Happy Ears event, which will be held on September 29, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is in connection with September being Deaf Awareness Month.
Butterfly Wonderland is considered to be the largest butterfly conservatory in America. It is an indoor conservatory with a tropical rainforest environment where thousands of butterflies are able to fly freely. It is located at OdySea in the Desert in Scottsdale, which is 35 acres wide and features three live animal attractions – Butterfly Wonderland, OdySea Aquarium, and Dolphinaris – including 18 shopping, dining, and amusement venues.
In the Deaf Awareness, Butterflies & Happy Ears event on September 29, Happy Ears Hearing Center will have a table where people can talk to one of their audiologists. The audiologists will be ready to answer any question that people might have about hearing loss and hearing loss treatment.
At the event you can watch a 3D movie, “Flight of the Butterflies”. Closed captioning will be provided and sound amplifiers can be checked out for people who are wearing hearing aids or just need amplification. Also, special sign language interpreters will be present at one of the Education Carts that will teach guests how butterflies and other insects hear and the various ways they communicate. All of that will be free with admission.
At the said event, Happy Ears Hearing Center will strive to accomplish its mission of helping people with hearing loss understand treatment options through the services of a licensed audiologist in Scottsdale. It should also be noted that they offer a worry-free guarantee on new hearing devices with a trial period for as long as 45 days. The trial period provided is that long because they want people with hearing loss issues to have the opportunity to experience what a hearing device can do. It will also help them find the level of technology that would be most suitable to their lifestyle.
Dr. Shanna Dewsnup, a doctor of audiology and co-founder of Happy Ears Hearing Center, says, “As an expert in hearing technology, we guarantee accurate and appropriate hearing fittings for every patient that we see. We treat every patient like they are family. No two types of hearing loss or tinnitus are the same and they affect people differently. We have a very strong passion for helping individuals and their families cope with hearing loss and find joy in their success. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone’s face filled with joy when they finally realize there is hope in better hearing.”
Happy Ears Hearing Center has the most up-to-date technology from the top hearing aid manufacturers and their audiologists have expertise in hearing aid technology, including rechargeable hearing devices, extended wear hearing aid technology, and surgical hearing devices.
The hearing center also provides hearing aid repairs for all of the top brands. Repair for hearing aids will be provided, regardless if the hearing aid was purchased from them or not. Most repairs can be done at the same time that people stop by the hearing center unless the repair needed is complex.
The hearing center also focuses on providing solutions for pediatric hearing loss. This is vital because a child’s ability to speak and understand language is affected even by a mild hearing loss. They are able to evaluate and treat hearing problems for children as young as six months.
Happy Ears Hearing Center was established in 2014 by Dr. Shanna Dewsnup and her husband Kevin. The establishment of the audiology practice was inspired by the fact that their son Brenden was born with a moderate to severe hearing loss. They also discovered that in Arizona, there are many hearing aid stores. However, because the minimum education required for selling hearing aids is GED or high school diploma, many of those stores do not have an audiology expert with a doctorate degree who can fit the hearing devices properly.
Dr. Dewsnup is licensed as a Doctor of Audiology and Dispensing Audiologist in the state of Arizona. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with an emphasis in Deaf Education, at Utah State University. She completed her Doctor of Audiology degree at the University of Cincinnati.
Happy Ears Hearing Center has also affiliated with Dr. John Macias, one of the top otolaryngologists in Arizona, for the provision of cochlear implants and bone anchored hearing devices for people in the entire Phoenix Area.
