Health Product Company Faces Additional Talcum Powder Ovarian Cancer Lawsuits

April 12, 2017 – – Pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson’s legal woes are far from over. The company is accused in these cases of manufacturing and marketing products that cause cancer. Specifically, claimants state that they marketed their popular Johnson’s Baby Powder and Shower-to-Shower to women for use in their daily hygiene, despite knowing that they can cause cancer. Studies done indicate that these products, which contain talc, could have led to the development of ovarian cancer in women who used them over long periods of time.

It’s just a sad situation all the way around, especially when you think about how those products were specifically marketed to be used in the way that they were used, and then they might have led to cancer.”

To date, Johnson & Johnson faces thousands of lawsuits, some of which have already gone to trial and been awarded in favor of the plaintiffs. Some cases have been pushed forward because the cancer of the women in those litigations are terminal and they are not expected to live long enough for a lengthy trial. The company is facing billions of dollars overall in damages to these and other plaintiffs in similar cases and more cases are being filed every day.
